The cynipsea group of genus Eurytoma Illiger, 1807 comprises 15 species limited in the Palaearctic region. These species are most common in arid areas. The main characters distinguishing the species of the E. cynipsea group are the yellow body, at least partly, inconspicuous posterogenal carina, short petiole and marginal vein. All the species of this group are parasitoid of Aylacini (Hym.: Cynipidae) that are gall-makers, mainly on herbs. In our collected specimens by pan trap in Qazvin province, Alamut; we identified Eurytoma hermonica Zerova, 2005. It is known only from Israel and this is second record of this species in the Palaearctic region and is first record for Iran. Its biology is unknown but such all the species of group associated with herbs. Most important morphological characters of this species are as follow: Body yellow, marginal vein darkened and widened; flagellar segments of female subequal in length, 1st flagellar segment of female insignificantly longer, not narrowed or weakly narrowed at base, club large; pronotum not longer than mesonotum, female metasoma usually slightly compressed and distinctly S-curved, 1.6– 2.0 times as long as mesosoma in lateral view; radial vein with very long fine stem which is longer than marginal vein. These specimens were deposited in the insect collection of the Department of Plant Protection, East-Azarbaijan Research Center for Agriculture and Natural Resources, Tabriz, Iran. This species is near to E. kelebiana Erdös that has coloration black with yellow marks; cylindrical body, pronotum longer than mesonotum, not compressed metasoma in dorsal view; 1st– 3rd flagellar segments of female insignificantly longer than wide, 4th and 5th segments as long as wide; propodeum with clearly outlined median furrow; marginal vein subequal in length to radial vein, postmarginal vein slightly longer than marginal vein.
